Build a Credit Repair Business
with Your Phone

As with any business, prospecting for customers is critical to its success. It requires networking, developing referrals, or advertising. Perhaps all 3. And, to get the word out initially, you’ll want to make your existing contacts aware of your new business. It can be one of the functions credit repair business owners like the least and takes most of their time. But what if you could build a credit repair business with your phone?

Using a phone app to share your business with people could save a lot of time. You could contact more people and do it quicker than calling them. Today people will be more likely to look at messages coming through their phone than listen to voice mails. Or, even answer their calls. HubSpot maintains, “mobile access to sales systems aren’t just nice to have — they’re a necessity”. That is why we have developed phone apps for our independent Agency business owners. Our phone apps streamline the process of contacting people to make them aware of their new credit repair business.  And, it allows them to get information out quickly to those that have inquired about credit repair and other services.

Help for Part-time Credit Repair Business Owners

Many of our Agency business owners start part-time while they maintain a job or other business. If someone inquires about credit repair, they typically must wait until they leave work to contact their prospect. Now very quickly they can open their app and send them a 90 second video or link to a mobile web page to provide them with information. Then they can follow up through the app or call them later. Our phone apps allow our credit repair Agency owners to operate their business from literally anywhere there is cell phone service.

Sales Funnels Ready to Go, Day One

To further help build a credit repair business with your phone, we have also developed sales funnels for online advertising or posting to Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms. Our sales funnels come with lead capture pages containing informational videos. It also has a complete CRM system our credit repair Agency business owners can operate right on their phone. Now anyone can generate leads using social media or Google.

Our credit repair business opportunity has always been a great option for those that didn’t have the time or money to start a credit repair business on their own. With this new marketing system that can be completely operated on a cell phone, we have upped the game in the credit repair business. We have now opened the credit repair business opportunity up to many more people that wouldn’t have the time to operate their business while still at a job.

Extract – The 7 Habits of Highly Effective
Credit Repair Business Owners

Credit Repair is a great choice as a part-time or full-time business. You help people improve their lives while having the opportunity to change your own. However, there is much to learn about starting and running a credit repair business. In the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Credit Repair Business Owners I give you 7 key elements from my experience as a highly successful credit repair business owner. I believe this is the most honest and candid information about the credit repair business that you will find. I hope you find it valuable as you do your research into this dynamic and potentially lucrative industry.

The Ultimate Goal – Interdependence

The late Stephen Covey published ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ in 1989. It has now sold over 25 million copies in 40 languages around the world. He outlines 7 specific habits that we should develop to move us through stages from Dependence to Independence and finally to Interdependence.

Interdependence, the ultimate goal is “the paradigm under which we cooperate to achieve something that cannot be achieved independently.” Read this sentence again. It is a theme discussed in different ways by nearly every author of business building and personal development information from Napoleon Hill to John Maxwell. Robert Kiyosaki maintains that in order to reach financial independence we must develop systems and networks. By developing systems and networks we become ‘interdependent’ and thus can rely on others to help us produce far more than we can on our own.

To test this theory, try and think of just one highly successful individual that did it all on their own. My first inclination is to think of professional athletes. They surely were alone in achieving their success, weren’t they? In sports you perform as an individual even if part of a team. Yet in virtually every Hall of Fame speech the athlete runs out of time giving thanks and credit to dozens of people that impacted their career. And without whom they wouldn’t be standing at that podium on that day.

The 7 Habits of Highly Successful Credit Repair Business Owners

The 7 habits listed below are separate concepts and each will help you build your credit repair business. But combined they will help you go from Independence to the ultimate goal of Interdependence. They will help you achieve much of what Covey, Hill, Kiyosaki and many others have been trying to teach us for decades.

In ‘The 7 Habits’ Covey lists the 1st habit as ‘Be Proactive’. I’m going to assume you are already being proactive because you are taking the time to read this. You want to discover the missing keys to your success in credit repair. Therefore, I’m going to take his 2nd habit, ‘Begin with the End in Mind’ and make it our 1st habit.

What You Need to
Start a Credit Repair Business

For several years I have been blogging and producing videos about how to, and what you need to start a credit repair business. If done correctly the credit repair business can be an incredibly lucrative and rewarding home-based business. However, it’s all about the business model. If someone chooses the wrong business model it can be a failure before it gets off the ground.

The reason I am qualified to share this information is that I started my own credit repair business in 2012. Today that business produces nearly $1 million in annual revenue and provides me a very comfortable 6 figure income. I have worked from home the entire time and control my schedule. My wife and I travel whenever we like. I can decide to work while traveling or have someone on the team work my business for me and shut down completely.

The revenue, income and time freedom I enjoy are all a result of the business model we chose. I cannot stress this enough. You can choose to go it alone and start a credit repair business all on your own. I contend that if you choose this type of business model you will never generate the revenue, income and time freedom you perhaps desire.

What Are You Trying to Accomplish?

I believe that in order to start a successful credit repair business you must look at what you want that business to accomplish for you before you start it. You must also think about what you need to start a credit repair business. What are all the components of a credit repair business? Then decide how you’re going to implement them.

The chart below is a list of items you must consider before you begin any work on starting your business. As you will see there is a lot to think about. You can easily compare starting a credit repair business on your own versus joining our company as an independent credit repair agency owner.

Please note that an independent agency is a business that you own. You can sell that business or will it to your heirs just like starting your own business by yourself. However, as you can see, the advantages are many.

If you want to explore more about owning an independent credit repair agency I give you the process of doing that below the chart.

Start a Credit Repair Business
in North Carolina

Many people in today’s economy decide to start their own business. Possibly they just need a 2nd income. Or, maybe they want to leave their job and work for themselves. After doing some research it makes sense for many to start a credit repair business in North Carolina.

I have owned a business that markets credit repair and related services since 2012. Here I give you the Pro’s and the Con’s of starting a North Carolina credit repair business. Then I offer you a solution that will offset all of the Con’s and is the very best credit repair business solution in the country.

The Pro’s of Starting a Credit Repair Business in North Carolina

The Con’s of Starting a Credit Repair Business in North Carolina

This list includes the con’s of starting a credit repair business anywhere in the United States

  • The cost of starting a credit repair business can be high
    • A requirement to start a credit repair business in North Carolina is to obtain a surety bond. The bond must be in the amount of $10,000. The cost of the bond will be dependent on your credit score and other factors. The lowest cost for a surety bond that I could find was $200 annually with excellent credit.
    • To be in business today you must have a website. You can hire someone to build it for you or build it yourself. Costs will vary. Even if you have the skill to build it yourself using Wix, WordPress or another service, there are other costs. You must pay for hosting, an SSL certificate, a related email address, and more
    • You will need to purchase software. The cost of credit repair software ranges from $30/month to $400/month.
    • Marketing materials are a must to be in the credit repair business. You could start off with just business cards and flyers. But in order to compete with other companies you will want to have tri-fold brochures and even marketing videos. This can get very costly
    • Providing your clients online access to their credit repair information and updates to the progress may be cost prohibitive when you’re starting out. But just know that other companies provide this and it’s something you’ll have to convince your prospects that they don’t need

Even if you have the capital to start a credit repair business in North Carolina
have you considered the following:

  • Working alone in your credit repair business will limit the amount of business you can do. Many under estimate the time to work on a client’s credit repair. They also don’t consider the amount of time for marketing to new prospects and selling to those prospects
  • Initially you may not have other services available to increase a client’s credit score. Removing negative items from a credit report only accounts for 35% of a credit score. Can you provide other services to impact the other 65%?
  • When you start your business you have no reputation, credibility or trust built up in the market. Many times consumers look for a Better Business Bureau rating or reviews to help them make a decision. You will want to create listings on Yelp, Google, and other services. You will also need to have social media pages/accounts on Facebook and other platforms. If no one can look you up on the internet they will not trust your business
  • There is a lot of competition in North Carolina in this industry. All the large players are in the state and can offer more services and more technology
  • You will have to have competitive pricing. And, if you are not an attorney, bank or non-profit organization you cannot charge fees for service until they are performed. You can charge a nominal start-up fee

A key decision to make when starting a credit repair business is the type of business model. You can start it from scratch, buy a franchise, or become an independent representative. This category is important for 2 reasons. If you’re going to commit to representing a company and building a business around that company’s brand, what type of track record does the company have? And what type of credibility will you have when representing this company in the market? Credit Repair USA does not have a Better Business Bureau rating and is not accredited by the BBB or the National Association of Credit Services Organizations. In addition, the brand Credit Repair USA is relatively new. ERA Credit Services gives an Agent instant credibility in the market and has a solid track record since 2004.

Credit Repair MLM

I’m going to introduce you to a business model that combines a home-based credit repair business opportunity with an MLM pay structure. It’s a brilliant business model for those that want a part-time or even full time home based business. When the company started in 2004 they had more of a traditional business model. They had independent sales people that earned straight commissions and could not build a team. About 10 years ago they switched to a credit repair MLM model. Since then they have exploded in growth.

If your reading this then one could assume that you look favorably on MLM or network marketing opportunities. For those that do not it may be because they perceive there to be a high failure rate among those that try MLM businesses. Let’s explore that for a bit.

MLM or Network Marketing vs. Traditional Small Business

According to Forbes.com 20% of traditional small business start ups fail in the first year. And, 50% fail in 5 years. Compare that with research on people that start an MLM business. 50% fail in their 1st year and 90% fail over 5 years. So, the failure rate is higher in a typical MLM opportunity than a traditional small business.

Most would look at the statistics just mentioned and stay away from MLM because 90% fail in 5 years. Others would look at the stats and jump in because they see that 10% succeed! What people don’t realize is that the 90/10 rule applies to most opportunities that aren’t a W-2 job where you get a salary. In opportunities where people must generate their income, 90% will fail. But that does not scare away those of use that believe enough in ourselves to become one of the 10%.

The primary reason why the failure rate is higher in MLM is because that the upfront investment is so low. There’s less ‘skin in the game’. This makes it much easier to walk away instead of fighting to make it work. Because of the low start up cost people don’t research the business before they start. People don’t treat it like a business. For some reason people that start a network marketing business treat it with less care than if they had made a bigger investment or commitment.

A Credit Repair MLM – Smaller Investment, Lower Risk

A credit repair MLM is a brilliant business model because it reduces the high cost of starting a credit repair business. Therefore it also reduces the risk. In addition, there is a huge market of consumers in need of credit repair. Beyond that there is a growing number of people looking for a second income.

Consider These Facts about the Market for a Credit Repair MLM

Approximately 35% of the U.S. adult population have a credit score below 620. This is considered sub-prime and will not get most qualified for a mortgage. That means that about 86 million people in this country at some point are going to need help with their credit.

44 million people in the U.S. have a second income or side hustle. It’s becoming more apparent that many Americans are having a difficult time meeting monthly expenses on one income alone.

Given these numbers there is a big opportunity to provide helpful services and to build a large team of people offering the services.

Why a Credit Repair MLM is Inherently Different Than a Typical MLM

Because credit repair is a financial service people perceive a person offering credit repair to be more like a traditional business person. The customer doesn’t need to be explained how an MLM works because they are not participating in the business at all. They are simply a customer of the service. It’s not that anyone is hiding anything it’s just that the business model is irrelevant to the customer. And, the business model has no bearing on the quality and performance of the service. In fact, because the main company provides the service and not the person in the field, the quality of the service is higher and more consistent.

Finding customers is a relatively simply process. You can and should let people that you know you’re in the credit repair business. They may need your service or know someone that does. Or, they may be looking for a second income. But the best place to find customers is to talk with those that see people with low credit scores daily. People that work in real estate, mortgage, automobile, solar and banking are great people to talk with. They benefit greatly be referring their credit challenged prospects to you. And again, there’s no need to explain the business model. You’re not trying to get people into the business. You’re just trying to help their credit challenged prospective clients.

And, yes there are millions in this country looking for that second income stream. Most desire to earn between $500 and $1,000 a month. They are not necessarily wanting to earn six figures. That means that if they simply find a few customers every month they will achieve their income goal and stay with the business long term. They may even decide to invest more time and effort into it. For those that want to earn significantly more, simply go find a lot of customers and people that want to earn $500 a month.

People don’t have to recruit. If they just want to earn that $500 to $1,000 a month they can do that from selling the services alone. They do not have to recruit anyone into their business. But note that if someone wants to earn a significant income or turn it into a full-time career, building a team is essential.

Credit Repair Franchise

Credit Repair Franchise

One of the ways to get into the credit repair industry is to purchase a credit repair franchise. By buying a franchise it gets you marketing and selling much quicker. You don’t have to wade through the legal and technology minutia on your own. Your business should be pretty much ready to go. You just need to go find clients.

What we offer is not technically a credit repair franchise. But it’s much like a credit repair franchise without the restrictions. We call it an Agency. The infrastructure of technology, service delivery, marketing materials (including websites, videos, landing pages), and client tracking is all provided. You’ll have an expert staff that pulls and analyzes credit reports and drafts dispute letters for your clients.

credit repair franchise benefits

Our credit repair agency offers everything a franchise does with 5 major advantages

Other Services in Addition to Credit Repair

Credit repair is a much needed service without question. But you must understand two facts about credit repair. One, it’s not the only thing that can be done for someone to increase their credit score. Two, if credit repair is all that you sell, your clients go into it with the idea of getting out as quickly as possible. Your residual income isn’t “sticky”. You’re just replacing clients instead of adding to them. We provide other services to help the client with their credit as well as their whole financial picture. We also have services that people want long term. Your retention of clients therefore is much higher. And, we provide all these services for the same price as other companies charge for credit repair alone.

Training from Successful Credit Repair Agency Owners

Training is a cornerstone of our credit repair Agency program. But the key is that you get trained by highly successful Agency owners. These are entrepreneurs that generate revenues in excess of $1 million a year in the business that you want to learn. How brilliant is that?

You Have an Unlimited Territory (US)

You not restricted to a city or county as you would be as a credit repair franchise owner. With our Agency you can do business in any U.S. state or territory. All the bonding and legalities have been satisfied. This is HUGE even if you’re thinking that there’s enough business in your local market. Which there is. But once you understand this industry you’ll be thankful for the ability to do business anywhere.

Grow Your Credit Repair Business Exponentially (or Not)

You have the choice to introduce this business opportunity to others. When you do so you earn bonuses and overrides on those credit repair Agencies. Would you like to expand your business to other metro markets and states? You can! But you don’t have to. If you simply want to sell the services yourself and not expand, that’s ok too. It’s your choice.

Low Start Up Cost

The least expensive start up costs for a credit repair franchise that we could find is $9,500. However, you can get started with everything you get with a franchise and all the other advantages for just $288.00!

Credit Repair Home Based Business

What You Need to Know and Questions You Need to Ask
Before You Start a Credit Repair Home Based Business

A credit repair home based business is a great choice if you want to develop a second income stream or a new career. However, there is a lot to research and understand before setting up your new business. I have worked from home in credit repair since 2012. My credit repair home business has grown each year. On average it generates nearly $1 million in sales revenue annually.

People call me nearly every day to ask how I did it. I have spoken to over 2,o00 people since 2012 on this topic. This blog post will share the common challenges and issues people ask about and many of which that they don’t.

Being a Soloprenuer

What is a solopreneur? A soloprenuer is someone in business for themselves and also by themselves. They have to do everything, wear every hat. What does that mean in a credit repair home based business? It means that you have to be good at a lot of things. Maintaining a website and other technology. Delivering credit repair services to clients. Marketing for new clients. Selling to your prospects. Providing customer service to your clients, and much more. And, you have to have the time to do it all.

Infrastructure

Website & other technology- being in business today means you must have a website. Not only that but it must be a great website with a professional look and populated with great information about credit. But it goes beyond just having a marketing website. To compete in this industry you’ll need to provide clients with online access to their progress and results of the service you are providing them.

Service Delivery

If you’ve done any research you’ll see advertisements for software that will generate dispute letters for you. Some are probably much better than others so you have to find the right one. But beyond that how are you going to know what derogatory items a client has? Are you going to make the client provide you with credit reports? Can you get credit reports? And, most importantly are you aware of the time it takes to process a clients service from start to finish? Have you calculated you’re per hour rate? Is that rate worth the investment you made to start your business?

Marketing

Where are going to find your clients? Not just your first few clients that you already know but a steady stream of clients? Are you good at marketing? Can you develop flyers, brochures, business cards? Are you a good writer? Can you advertise on social media? Do you have the time for all this?

Sales

Can you sell? Are you a good communicator on the phone and in person? Is your credit repair service going to stand up against all the competitors out there? Is your schedule flexible enough to return phone call or other inquiries soon enough?

Customer Service

Will you have the time and be available to take calls from customers that want to know the status of their account and the progress you’ve made. What will be your policy for dissatisfied clients whose results weren’t what they expected?

Legal

Federal Laws
Have you read the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) and understand the rules about charging up-front fees? If you can’t charge up-front fees can you wait to get paid?

State Laws

What are the laws in your state? Is a surety bond required? Do you have to register with the state Attorney General? Do you need to also look into neighboring states so you can do business outside your own state?

Competition

Who will be your major competitors? What do they charge? How is your service going to be different? Why should people enroll in your service versus theirs?

Credit Repair Training

How are you going to learn what you need to know and do to deliver the best credit repair service?

Business Development Training

How are you going to learn how to run and manage your business. Unless you have successfully built and managed a business before this is often not even considered.

Credit Repair Home Based Business

Own a Credit Repair Business

Since 2012 over 2,500 people have contacted me because they have an interest in knowing how to own a credit repair business. Most were mainly focused on how to do credit repair, meaning the fulfillment of the service. They are less concerned with discussing how to start, build and maintain a credit repair business which is where I direct the conversation. That’s what they should be concerned with and asking questions about.

Own a Credit Repair Business

There are many issues to tackle when starting any business. Yes, you have to understand the fulfillment piece, in this case delivering results to the customer for credit restoration. But there’s much more to it. What about the state and federal laws, the technology used for fulfillment and marketing, the marketing and sales functions, the competition, and the cash flow?

Do you have a plan to own a credit repair business that encompasses all these aspects and more?

Ultimately it comes down to this question. Do you want to be an entrepreneur or a solopreneur? An entrepreneur is going to use their highest and best value to operate and expand a business. They are not going to perform all the functions of the business. They are going to utilize the efforts of other people that are appropriately positioned for the value they bring to the business.

A solopreneur is going to be in business for themselves but also by themselves. They are going to wear all hats. Sales, marketing, technology, fulfillment, customer service… everything. To attempt this in any business is a daunting task. In the credit repair industry it’s a recipe for failure.

Starting a Credit Repair Business on Your Own

Of course, even if your intention is to own a credit repair business and be an entrepreneur, initially you will most likely start it alone. Just know that setting up your credit repair business and then doing the marketing, sales and fulfillment yourself all take a great deal of time. There is typically not enough hours in a day to do all 3 especially if you want to start a credit repair business on a part time basis. And, it takes very different skill sets. That’s why you eventually want to bring on people that have skill sets and hours you don’t have.

Further, you want to understand what functions brings the most value to your client and to your business. In the credit restoration industry the fulfillment (credit report analysis, drafting dispute letters, and customer support) is the least valuable function with regard to what you can pay someone else to do that job. That’s an administrative function that you can pay and train people to do for a reasonable hourly wage. It does not take a college degree or a large amount of previous experience.

The functions that bring the most value to your business are marketing and sales

To own and operate a successful credit repair business you have to know how to continually get lots of customers and how to sell to those customers. Yes, you can hire people to do this but you’re going to have to pay them far more than a reasonable hourly wage. Marketing and sales skills are honed with years of experience and people want to get paid well for that experience. This is the part you should do, not the fulfillment.

Our business model provides the fulfillment of credit repair services to the client by a well trained staff. All the marketing pieces, a website, brochures, business cards, flyers, folder, product videos and more have been prepared for you. The technology to keep your client, you and any referral source you’re working with updated on the progress for that client is in place. We provide training on how to market and build a credit repair business. And, we show you how to sell credit repair to customers. You get one on one mentoring from someone who is already highly successful in the business.

I have recorded a video describing the 3 options to own a credit repair business below.

By watching this video you will understand what is necessary to work in this industry in each scenario. If ultimately the third option in this video makes the most sense for you watch the next video on that page then let’s talk. You’ll see how to ‘Book a Phone Appointment’ with me. We’ll discuss the hours and skills you have and design a business plan that makes sense for you. I look forward to talking with you.

Starting a Credit Repair Business
It’s Not That Easy

More and more people are interested in starting a credit repair business. There are many companies out there selling software, websites, training certificates and more. In their advertising these companies make it sound so easy to use their products and make a lot of money. But think about it. These companies are selling other people their products and are not in the credit repair business themselves. Maybe they realize starting a credit repair business isn’t that easy. In fact, most credit restoration businesses fail in the 1st year.

Starting a Credit Repair Business

It is true that about 43 million American consumers have a poor credit score. It’s also true that 4 in 5 credit reports have errors on them. And, the criteria for lending having tightened dramatically. It would seem that people would be knocking down the door of anyone claiming to be able to increase their credit score. But it’s not the case.

Starting a credit repair business and making it a success is difficult. Here’s why…

You Must Know How to Find Motivated Clients

#1– People can live with poor credit their whole lives. Not everyone with a sub 600 credit score has the need or desire to increase their score. Their poor credit score only hurts them if and when they attempt use their credit. Such as when trying to qualify for a mortgage or car loan. With regard to buying a car they’ll still be able to make that purchase albeit with a higher interest rate. The bottom line is that you have to work hard and be a savvy marketer to find clients. Then you have to be a very good salesperson to convince your prospect to do business with you. Especially if you’re just getting started because you have no track record.

Unless You are Well Capitalized You Could Have a Cash Flow Problem

#2There’s a federal law called CROA. This law prevents a company that is not a 501(C)3 non-profit, attorney or bank from collecting up-front fees for credit restoration services. Yes, you can charge a nominal set up fee. Most people discount it’s affect because they wrongly assess that monthly fees will make up for it. Here’s the problem. Most people will not continue to pay monthly fees unless they see results quickly. People are impatient and want an increase in their score right away. If they don’t see it they will stop paying the monthly expense. Therefore you’ll have a cash flow problem. You’ll not see the return on your investment of time, energy and money. And you’ll likely fold within your first year. This creates more difficulty in starting a credit repair business.

You Must Price Your Services Competitively

#3– The days of charging thousands for credit repair are over. Ten years ago, even five years ago companies charged thousands of dollars for credit repair. Some still do but the tide is turning. Many companies like ours charge a lot less than even $1,000. Therefore the big profit margins in the industry just don’t exist. If you calculate what you earn hourly you may as well get a part time job and not have the headaches.

You Must Wear All the Hats

#4– There’s not enough hours in the day to build a successful credit restoration business from scratch. People severely underestimate the time it takes. You have to promote the business. Then sell to clients and follow up with clients. Then put in the time to dispute items to the credit reporting agencies, and everything else that goes along with it. This factor alone leads to most people failing in the first year.

There is however a way to start a successful credit repair business.

Work with a company that does all the back end work of analyzing credit reports, drafting dispute letters, providing customer support, and adhering to state and federal regulations. Our company does that and provides a website, an online tracking system, and training. As an Independent Agent our job is to market and sell. This frees up the hours needed. However, that’s not enough. You still have to do more sales volume than one person can do to achieve a significant income.

How do you achieve more sales volume than you can do yourself? Develop a team of Independent Agents. The fact is that no matter the business model chosen there simply isn’t enough hours in the day to make a credit restoration business work on your own. You need help. By developing a team of Independent Agents who are, in turn, building their own Agency you can develop a significant income into the tens of thousands per month. You could never do that on your own.

If your goal is to do credit restoration on the side and make very little money then go buy software and have a go at it. But if you want a long term career where you can earn a significant income and eventually stop working because you have a substantial team of Agents working for you, then contact us. The support you’ll receive will go a long way to help you in starting a credit repair business.
