I’m going to make the assumption that you’re either researching how to start a credit repair business or that you are already a credit repair business owner. Being in one of these two categories you may have realized that finding the time and knowledge to do everything to operate a successful credit repair business is difficult at best. Especially if you have a job or other business to run as well. Learning how to manage time in the credit repair business is crucial to making it work. And learning how to do it all takes time.
Henry Ford’s Theory
Henry Ford, one of our country’s best known and most successful industrialists, only had 8 years of formal education. However, he knew something that even many of today’s college graduates do not. In Think and Grow Rich, author Napoleon Hill described a scenario where Mr. Ford was being questioned in a deposition about his ability to run his business.
After many questions, Mr. Ford said the following, "If I should really WANT to answer the foolish question you have just asked or any of the other questions you have been asking me, let me remind you that I have a row of electric push-buttons on my desk, and by pushing the right button, I can summon to my aid men who can answer ANY question I desire to ask concerning the business to which I am devoting most of my efforts. Now, will you kindly tell me, WHY I should clutter up my mind with general knowledge, for the purpose of being able to answer questions, when I have men around me who can supply any knowledge I require?"
Why is Henry Ford’s statement relevant to the topic of managing time in the credit repair business? Because if you try to know everything and try to do everything, you won’t have enough time to do what it is you set out to do in the first place. Which is to own a successful credit repair business.
Entrepreneur or Solopreneur
Simply because you own a business does not make you an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs use what Henry Ford practiced to become, “one of the most renowned entrepreneurs in history. He optimized transportation and forever changed the United States automobile industry. His innovative manufacturing process produced low-cost, reliable vehicles, while simultaneously keeping his workers well-paid and loyal.” Source - IntellectualVentures.com
If you are the main and perhaps only source of knowledge, and you do everything to operate your business, you are a solopreneur. You’ll never be able to scale your business growth because as one person, you are limited in time.
But I Can Hire Staff to Help Me
Many credit repair business owners think that they’ll start their business all on their own. They’ll get it running to some level of success. And then they’ll hire people to help them. Here’s what’s wrong with that plan. Hiring people costs money. This expense will dip into your profit margins. Which, in the credit repair business are not huge, to begin with. You also need to train these people. You’ll have liability as an employer. And, you’ll need to pay employee tax, Social Security, and insurance for your staff. Of course, you could try to manage all this “under the table” but that’s not legal and could cause some serious problems for you.
